Pastor G. Rajesh Babu's Testimony
When I was studying M.A at Andhra University, Vizag, a friend of mine introduced
me to Christ and gave me a pocket size bible. He asked me to read the bible
and due to his insistence, I read for one or two days. And without knowing how I
got the interest, I then completed reading and studying the bible and do now
realise and know the one true and real God. But during the time I was studying
the bible, I was afraid of my parents, and only read it and prayed to God in
Jesus’ name in their absence.
One day after college I studied the bible in the toilet because of fear of my
parents and kept the bible in the pocket of my trousers. My mother came across
the bible when she took my clothes for washing (or laundry) and immediately
informed my father. My father harassed me, warned me against the bible and
threatened to throw me out of the house.
I come from a very poor family and when sending me to college my parents had
a dream to see me become as a state officer or government employee. I also
had the same ambition and studied very hard day and night preparing to sit
three final examinations. However, before the examinations I fell sick with
jaundice and was bed ridden. The doctors told me that my sickness was as a
result of infection in my blood and was a danger to my life. In my bed-ridden
state I prayed to God and at midnight I got a vision from Christ. I heard a low
voice, which said “O my son I choose you for my servant, come to my feet I will
make you as a great instrument in my vineyard.”
The next morning I got up healthy. Doctors checked my body and did not find any
infection or disease in my body. Praise Lord! I informed my parents about my
vision and healing. That same day I dedicated my life to Christ. My parents at
first refused but I convinced them and they later converted from Hinduism to
Christianity. Due to my conversion and that of my parents, my relatives and the
surrounding Hindu people also converted to Christianity.
Since then, my parents, relatives, surrounding people in the village and myself
are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a result most Hindus were
converted to Christianity and now participate in prayer meetings in the Church. I
am very happy to continue working for Jesus Christ than getting a job as a
government employee. Please pray for me and my family.
We are currently doing evangelical work among the poor and downtrodden
people in 32 villages with 32 co-pastors. By His mighty power we are going
forward proclaiming the message of salvation through tracts, booklets. We are
conducting youth meetings, street meetings, night-evangelism meetings,
visiting house to house sharing the word of God, His love and deliverance. In
our services many people are coming to the knowledge of Christ and accepting
our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.
