Pastor John David Dimmili’s Testimony - Salvation and ministry.

I was born to a Hindu family in a village called Srungavruksham in Thandangi
Mandal, East Godavari District Andhra Pradesh, South India. My whole family
did not know Jesus Christ and worshipped an idol called pakka. I had a bad
reputation in the village and used to drink alcohol, smoke and do all sorts of
terrible things. I also never listened to my father.

During that time a Pastor came to our village preaching the word of God, doing
door to door evangelism, conducting cottage prayer crusades and meetings
and distributing tracks. But the people from my village did not accept Jesus
including me. And when the pastor came to me saying he had a word from God
for me I resisted vehemently for I was comfortable with my way of life; smoking
and drinking.

Unfortunately, in 1996 my father fell sick and passed away as we were unable
to raise money and get him treated. I was grieved and mourned for him and did
not get any comfort from the village people. At that time pastor reappeared in my
life with a word and scriptures to comfort me and everything in my life started to
change. I started spending time with pastor everyday reading the bible. One day
early morning as I was reading Psalm 118: 8 “It is better to take refuge in the
LORD than to trust in man” my heart was touched. I then left my job and
dedicated myself to ministering the work of God. I got baptized in 1997
immediately enrolled for Bachelor’s Degree in Theology at Bangalore.

In 2001 I returned to my birth place got married and started a ministry praying
every day. We fasted for five days and on the fourth day God revealed in a vision
a small town (Tuni place) full of harlotry. We visited the town and went from door
to door proclaiming the word of God but people told us that six pastors had
been to the village already and had left. People said the town was like Sodom
and Gomorrah, full of filthy language, banter, fighting, “bed lamite,” witchcraft
pakka idolatry and fornication. When we heard all the above we were shocked
and fear gripped us. However, we went with confidence and faith doing God’s
work without any support from an outside organization. We first rented a hut and
conducted Sunday services from there, Sunday school, all night prayers once a
month and fasting and prayer
s every Friday, By God’s grace we now have 50
church members conducting cottage prayers, crusades, door to door
evangelism, conducting meetings and baptizing (by immersion) those who
have accepted Jesus Christ. God is performing mighty miracles
of healing the
sick and bringing many to salvation.
